AIS -February 20th

Hello all

 

1.        Hope you have your children working on their Parent's day Projects.  ALL Project forms SHOULD have been SENT IN by now.

2.        This SATURDAY MIDNIGHT is the DEADLINE FOR ALL VISITOR FORMS. If these are not in to the "good" Dr. K by then, we will have a difficult time accommodating any additional visitors. So PLEASE, not to deprive your guests from attending your children's presentations, please have these forms in. MANY THANKS to those that have sent it in!

3.        Parents-please understand-we NEED to limit the number of students per class so that there is a reasonably equal distribution for all the Teachers.

4.        As usual, please come after 8:00 AM

 

We have 4 great sessions for you (plus a backup) this Saturday:

 

1.        Why (and how) Planes and Birds stay up and Fly: Learn the basic laws that govern flight- from flies to birds to man-made objects. How do they go against gravity? Can WE ALL flap our hands and Fly? How do planes go up and down (smoothly)? Why do they crash?

2.        What is Chocolate? Learn about the history of chocolate, what is the chemistry in them, are they GOOD or BAD for you and why are they Nutritious, WHY do ADULTS LIKE THEM as much as children(!!), some hands on science on the ART of making chocolate and TASTE chocolate at the END of the class!

3.        Physics and Isaac Newton:- Learn all about who he was (Who is That Man!!), what did he do, why is he famous (OR is he?), what things did he discover, how his discoveries helped shape Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy(and learn what these  are)

4.        Body's Immune System: Learn all about what is immune system, does everyone have one, why some people get sick often and others do not, do you have an Immune System, how is it created, Do your Parents help in you having an Immune system, Can it be created?

5.        Mystery topic –Depending on the number of children and the need

 

In addition, for those Parents, guests and other adults that are interested in stretching their limbs (Yoga postures, positions and stretches to limber up) the teacher will be available-AND if there is a quorum-at least ten individuals, will conduct the session. Please wear comfortable clothes.
