AIS -February 27th

Hello all

1.        Hope most of the children have completed/almost completed their Parent's day projects.

2.        As usual, please come after 8:00 AM

We have 4 great sessions for you this Saturday:

·          Chemistry and Chemicals: –Learn about "Exothermic and Endothermic" reactions! How some chemicals give out heat and some absorb heat; Are there  chemicals that can you can (safely) use to warm up your hands, other than gloves in winter? Does your body give out heat/absorb heat/both and why?

·          Build Towers/Bridges: Learn the art of building towers with spaghetti sticks and Marshmallows. Learn about how strong the structure would be/how much weight can it carry/can it survive an earthquake?

·          Life of "Pi" and Geometry- Learn all about what "Pi" is, where is it used, what is Pythagorean theorem-is it a name, is it a person or is it imagination and what is it? Where is this used and why should you know it? Also will it help you build Bridges and Towers!!

·          Two-in-One Bonus (Limited number of kids): A Parent with two of her children is going to present this" Learn- about "What are three different ways to melt ice" This is also for for Moms and Dads!! Learn by doing it hands on: Also the 2nd topic (and one of my favourites)-"Why is the sky blue and sunsets are red and orange" Why do these colours appear the way they do-again a hands on topic

In addition, for those Parents, guests and other adults that are interested in stretching their limbs (Yoga postures, positions and stretches to limber up) the teacher will be available-AND if there is a quorum-at least ten individuals, will conduct the session. Please wear comfortable clothes.

Cheers
